Can it diagnose a check engine light or an OBD-II code?

Yes. Enter the code, such as P0420 or P0300, and AI Mechanic explains what it means on your specific engine, the possible causes, and the checks that usually come first.

Does it replace a mechanic?

No. AI Mechanic is informational and does not replace a qualified mechanic, a professional inspection or an insurance appraisal. If a symptom may be safety-critical, stop driving and have the vehicle inspected.

This Privacy Policy explains how MehyarSoft LLC ("MehyarSoft," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use AIMECH.APP, aimech.app, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). MehyarSoft LLC operates AIMECH.APP from New York, United States.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect:

Account information, such as your name, email address, authentication details, and account preferences.
Vehicle information, such as VIN, year, make, model, trim, engine, mileage, nickname, maintenance history, and service events.
Diagnostic content, including symptoms, questions, OBD-II codes, conversation history, and AI-generated results.
Images and files you upload for visual vehicle inspections.
Support communications and information submitted when you contact us.
Subscription information, such as your plan, subscription status, usage, Stripe customer identifier, and billing-cycle dates. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we and our service providers may collect device and browser information, IP address, operating system, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, feature usage, diagnostics, crash data, and similar log information. We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect the Service, and understand performance.

Information from third parties

We may receive authentication details from an identity provider you choose, subscription and transaction status from Stripe, and vehicle decoding information from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) vPIC service. When you submit a VIN for decoding, that VIN may be transmitted to NHTSA.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

provide, personalize, maintain, and secure the Service;
identify vehicles and generate vehicle-specific diagnostic or inspection guidance;
process subscriptions, enforce plan limits, and administer accounts;
save garage, diagnostic, inspection, and maintenance history;
respond to support requests and send service-related communications;
detect abuse, fraud, security incidents, and technical failures;
analyze and improve reliability, usability, and features;
comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We may aggregate or de-identify information so it no longer reasonably identifies you and use that information for lawful business purposes.

3. AI Processing

The Service uses artificial intelligence to respond to prompts and analyze uploaded vehicle images. Your prompts, relevant vehicle details, conversation context, and uploaded files may be sent to AI and infrastructure providers solely to operate the requested feature. AI output may be inaccurate and should not contain information you do not want processed for this purpose. Do not upload passwords, payment card data, government identification documents, medical information, or unrelated confidential information.

4. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information:

To service providers that support hosting, databases, authentication, file storage, AI processing, analytics, email delivery, customer support, security, and payment processing.
At your direction, including when you use a third-party link or feature.
For legal and safety reasons, when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, or enforce agreements.
In a business transaction, such as a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

5. Payments and External Services

Stripe processes paid subscriptions under its own privacy policy. AIMECH.APP may link to NHTSA, Amazon, repair resources, or other third-party sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for those practices. As an Amazon Associate, we may earn from qualifying purchases made through eligible links.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by the type of information and why it was collected. Account deletion may not immediately remove information from backups, security logs, legal records, or records we must retain by law.

7. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You may review or update certain account and vehicle information in the Service. You may request account deletion through the Account page. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of certain processing, and to appeal a denied privacy request.

To submit a privacy request, use the info@mehyar.us and identify AIMECH.APP in your message. We may verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to verification of their authority.

You can control cookies or local storage through your browser, although disabling them may prevent parts of the Service from working.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and device.
